7 year old 7th freshening

2 year-old 2 freshening

Digger caught my eye as a kid, and even received RGCH @ 8 weeks old! I freshened her in for two years, and liked what I saw. However with college coming up she was sold. In the spring of 2025 I was offered the opportunity to buy her back and I couldn't be more excited to incorporate her genetics back into the herd. As a 7 year old, she still has a beautifully attached mammary and stands on solid feet and legs.

She is bred to Hubba Bubba - Line-bred on Spotlight

Rose was an outcross but I really liked the results. Rose's grandsire, Brainstorm, was the 2017 ADGA Spotlight Sale consignment. She picked up his large expressive eyes, deep muzzle, and correct mammary. There is a lot I like about this doe. While I would like to correct her front end, Rose has consistently out-produced herself. I am excited to watch this doe continue to mature but know her place is in the breeding pen.

She is bred to Peanut for April babies

After our 2025 Linear Appraisal there was a common fault in our Nigerian Dwarfs which was weak front ends. I decided I should begin looking into some outside genetics and then I saw Camillie available who had an E in General Appearance including an E in front end assembly. Did I need another doe? No! But who was I to pass up a doe who excelled in areas my herd needs improvement.

She is bred to Hubba Bubba for February kids

Just like her dam and grand dam, Serenade's udder did not disappoint when she freshened in this spring! This is the most correct mammary I have in my herd and I can't wait to see what another freshening does. Beyond her mammary, I also appreciate this does general appearance and length of body.  This is a slower maturing line, so I don't expect this doe to hit her stride until she's 4 years old. Good things come to those who wait and she's worth it.

As a single kid, Petal was quite chunky and never caught my eye. She had long been on my sales list until I finally clipped her up. WOW am I happy she was overlooked! In her only depute as a kid, she won Grand Champion under Travis Cockburn and earned her dry leg. Her sire Rein has done wonders for improving toplines and consistency in my herd and Petal is a testament of his impact. Her mammary is well attached with a strong medial and proper teat placement. Another freshening will help with production next year.

I love the consistency of quality does I have gotten from Shadow, and "Kiss" is one of those. She is a very dairy doe with a beautiful, high, well attached mammary system. Her length of body also makes her a stand out in the barn.
